Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what Roothive collects, why, and what you can do about it. It's written to match what this platform actually does, not a generic template — if something here doesn't match your experience of using the site, tell us.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers everyone who uses Roothive: customers buying products, affiliates and Coaches promoting them, and visitors browsing the site.Roothive is not directed at children, and you must be at least 18 years old to create an account, become an affiliate, or make a purchase.

2. What we collect

Account information. Name, email address, and phone number if you provide one, when you sign up as a customer, affiliate, or Coach.

Payout information. If you become an affiliate or Coach and request a withdrawal, we collect your bank name, account number, and the account holder name, which we verify directly with your bank through our payment processor before saving it. We never see or store your card details — those go directly to our payment processor.

Order information. When you buy something, we record the product, price paid, and which affiliate link (if any) brought you here, so commissions can be calculated correctly.

Usage and click data. When you click an affiliate link, we record which link, which product, a hashed (not raw) version of your IP address, and your browser's user agent — this is how we attribute a sale to the right affiliate. We also set a first-party cookie to recognize you as the same visitor across a browsing session; this cookie is functional (it exists to make attribution work), not used for advertising or tracking you across other websites.

Reading activity. If you buy a digital guide, we store your last-read page so you can pick up where you left off across devices.

3. What we don't collect

We don't store your card number, CVV, or bank login details — payment is handled entirely by our payment processor (Flutterwave), and we only ever receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed. We don't sell your data to advertisers, and we don't use third-party advertising trackers on this site.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to actually run the platform, and share only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, handles login/authentication, and stores digital product files.
  • Flutterwave — processes payments and payouts. Your payment details go directly to them, governed by their own privacy policy.
  • Resend — sends transactional emails (purchase receipts, withdrawal notifications). We don't use this for marketing email.

We don't share your information with anyone else, except where required by law, to investigate fraud, or with your explicit consent.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and order records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove what we can, but some transaction records may need to be retained where required by law.

6. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, ask us to delete your data (subject to the retention limits above), and ask for a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@roothive.name.ng.

7. Security

All traffic to this site is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to your data within our systems is restricted by row-level security policies, meaning even our own backend code only sees what it's specifically permitted to for the task at hand. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information.

8. Cookies

We use one first-party functional cookie (described in section 2) to make affiliate attribution work. We don't use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. Session cookies from our authentication provider are also set when you log in, to keep you signed in.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Roothive after a change means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data — email hello@roothive.name.ng.
